The War Resisters League invites you to a report back from two former WRL National Committee members who recently returned from the occupied West Bank.
NOURA KHOURI and JIM HABER traveled with different organizations that provide international accompaniment for West Bank Palestinians who are under constant threat of armed attack by outlaw zionist settlers and the Israeli military. They will talk about their experiences, discuss changing conditions since they were there this Summer 2024 and share stories from their occupied hosts.
Noura and Jim shared calls to action, for people to literally stand with Palestinians as they persevere in the face of assaults by the Israeli State and its settler-soldiers. There was plenty of time for discussion, questions and answers.

Clare Bayard has organized for decades connecting struggles against U.S. empire at home and abroad. Clare is a former War Resisters League National Committee member, and currently serves on the board of About Face Veterans Against War, in the Anti-War Working Group of the Center for Political Education, and on the steering committee for the national Dismantling the Military Industrial Complex Network. Clare has worked in solidarity with the Palestinian liberation movement since the beginning of the second intifada in 2000.

Noura Khouri is a former WRL National Committee Member and a diaspora Palestinian. Noura currently resides on Ohlone land, or Oakland CA - and has worked for over the past two decades as a community organizer. Noura lived in Palestine and Egypt, where she witnessed the devastating impacts of US foreign policy on the region. She currently serves on the National Committee of Al-Awda, Palestine Right to Return Coalition - where she conspires to destroy walls and build bridges of solidarity at the intersections of labor, faith and social justice.

Jim Haber is a long-time activist with many affiliations including Jewish Voice For Peace, the Center for Jewish Nonviolence, the National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee and the Catholic Worker Movement. Jim is a past member of the WRL National Committee, and he edited WRL's 2008 Peace Calendar: Salaam, Shalom, Solh: Nonviolence and Resistance in the Middle East and Beyond.
