TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Getting to Washington, DC

You can get to Washington, DC by plane, train, bus or car. We strongly urge you not to drive because parking on or near Georgetown University is very limited. (More on this below.)

The Georgetown University website has most of the information you'll need to get to the campus. That includes information about:
The 3 DC area airports and how to get from each of them to the campus. The Reagan-Washington National Airport (DCA) is the easiest to get into and out of. It has it's own Metro Stop and from there you can go to the Rosslyn stop where you can then pick up the shuttle bus to the campus, or walk. Getting from and to the 2 other airports will take much longer and be more complicated.

Metro DC bus service and subway service to the campus, including the closest stops: Dupont Circle and Rosslyn. The Foggy Bottom station is also relatively close: it's about a 20 minute walk or you can get a cab from there. (You can also access the Metro system's website at wmata.com )

The Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS), a free service you should be able to use. You can pick up a shuttle at Dupont Circle, at the Rosslyn Metro stop and other locations as well.

Other information

AMTRAK: If you plan to come to Washington, DC by train, you will arrive at Union Station. From there, take the Red Line of the Metro system to Dupont Circle where you can pick up the GUTS shuttle to the campus, or you can take the G2 Metro Bus that goes to the front gate of the campus. It's not free, but it's more convenient than the GU shuttle.

BUS: Many different bus companies travel into Washington, DC and they stop at different locations around town. You should check the GUTS site for information about where you can connect with that shuttle service to the campus.

CAR: Parking on and around the campus is very difficult and limited. If you need to drive, check the Georgetown University website for the driving directions and parking information.

DISABILITY ACCESS: If you have special needs related to traveling to the campus please let us know. Send an email to us at 90thanniversaryconference [at] warresisters.org and we'll be sure to get back to you to help ensure your safe trip.
